The brave men and women who have answered the call to protect our country make sacrifices every day for the sake of our nation, and they deserve to be served by our country in return when they come home. I am proud to help lead critical work to ensure that all veterans receive the care and benefits they have rightfully earned. We owe our veterans nothing less than the best, and it is a privilege to recognize their service and sacrifice in this way.
I look forward to working with Chair Moran, the Republicans, Democrats, and Independents on the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee and Veteran Service Organizations to fight for veterans and their families, work to improve veterans’ health care, smooth the transition from the Department of Defense to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), foster employment opportunities for veterans, and expedite the VA claims process.
