Sen. Moran Statement on Nominees to Serve in Key Positions at the VA and AIR Commission
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) – ranking member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee (SVAC) – today released the following statement after President Biden announced his nominees to serve as the VA Undersecretary for Health, the Undersecretary for Benefits, and as members on the Asset Infrastructure Review (AIR) Commission:
“I urged the President last month to quickly nominate candidates to fill several vacancies within the VA and vacancies on the AIR Commission. Delays in nominating candidates to these roles can impact the timeliness and quality of care provided to our veterans. I look forward to meeting with these nominees and questioning them before the committee on their experience, expertise and ideas on how we can improve service and benefits to our nation’s heroes. If they are confirmed, I will work with them to make certain we are meeting the needs of our veterans.”
