Tester Holds ‘productive’ Meeting With VA Secretary Nominee Denis McDonough
(U.S. Senate) – Ranking Member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee Jon Tester today held a meeting with Denis McDonough, the presumptive nominee to be Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), to discuss his plans to serve America’s veterans and their families.
“Today I had a productive conversation with Denis McDonough on his vision for the future of the Department of Veterans Affairs,” said Ranking Member Tester. “McDonough exhibits a deep understanding that taking care of our veterans is a cost of war, and assured me that a VA under his leadership will reflect those beliefs. I look forward to continuing our dialogue as his confirmation process moves forward.”
President-elect Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate Denis McDonough to be Secretary of the VA on December 10, 2020.
