U.S. House Passes Tester’s Bipartisan VA Accountability Bill
(U.S. Senate) – Ranking Member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee Jon Tester today issued the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed his major bipartisan reform bill to bring greater accountability to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA):
“This bill does right by veterans by cracking down on bad employees who jeopardize veterans’ health care and protecting the hardworking folks who serve veterans. I’m pleased that the House of Representatives quickly passed our critical legislation to make sure that the VA can provide the best possible care and benefits for veterans and I look forward to seeing the President sign it into law.”
The Senate recently unanimously passed Tester’s bipartisan legislation, which is cosponsored by Senators Johnny Isakson and Marco Rubio. It has garnered support from veterans, advocates, other members of Congress and leaders at the VA.
