Senate Veterans' Committee To Hold Hearing On Wounded Warrior Family Programs Hearing to identify how programs can better serve families


WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Richard Burr today announced that the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs will hold a hearing on programs designed to help the families of wounded warriors.  The hearing aims to identify ways these programs can better serve the families of those wounded in combat.  The committee will receive testimony from family members of servicemen wounded in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Officials from the Army, Navy, and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will also testify.  The hearing will take place on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 10:00 A.M in 418 Russell Senate Office Building.

 

Jackie McMichael of Raleigh, North Carolina will testify on Panel I.  Mrs. McMichael's husband, Michael, suffers from serious injuries received during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Mr. and Mrs. McMichael receive counseling at the Raleigh Veterans Center.
