SENATE VETERANS' AFFAIRS COMMITTEE APPROVES NOMINATION OF MICHAEL W. HAGER TO BE VA'S ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR HUMAN RESOURCES AND MANAGEMENT
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs approved the nomination of Michael W. Hager to be Veterans Affairs Assistant Secretary for Human Resources and Management.
"Mr. Hager's 35 years of business experience in human resources, as well as his general management experience, suggest that he is ready for the challenges of this position," said Senator Akaka, Chairman of the Committee on Veterans' Affairs.
Mr. Hager is currently the Associate Administrator in the Office of Capital Access at the Small Business Administration. His previous positions include Senior Vice President of Human Resources at the Freddie Mac Corporation, and Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Bank One Corporation. He earned his bachelor's degree from Bluefield State College in West Virginia.
Mr. Hager's nomination will now move to the full Senate for consideration.
